Biblical foothills

Overview

In the Bible, the name of the shale (הַשְּׁפֵלָה) (Shfela – Biblical, Jewish foothills) is translated from Hebrew as a lowland and implies one of the parts of the Holy Land lying between the mountain ridge in the east and the coastal strip in the west. Practical is the western foothills of the Judean Mountains. Historically there are important and important cities described in the Bible: Soho, Odollam, Maresha and Lahish. Here the battle of David and Goliath took place, as well as the destruction of the ancient city of Lahisa by the Assyrian king Sanherib in 701 BC.
